Ann Griffiths (born April 1776, Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa, Montgomeryshire, Wales—died August 1805, Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa) was a Welsh hymnist whose works are characterized by complex scriptural allusions, bold figures of speech, and deep spiritual fervour. They are written in a somewhat uneven metre that is troublesome to performers. Ann Griffiths recited her hymns to her maid, Ruth Evans, who kept them alive in her memory. Griffiths died in 1805 after giving birth to her only child.
