Barbara Brackman (born July 6, 1945, New York, New York, U.S.) is an American quilt historian noted for her extensive compilations of American quilt patterns. Brackman moved to Leawood, Kansas, as a teenager; she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art education in 1967 and a master’s degree in special education in 1974 from the University of Kansas. She taught special education for nearly two decades at the Universities of Kansas and Illinois.
