Elizabeth Warren (born June 22, 1949, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, U.S.) is an American legal scholar and politician who was elected as a Democrat to the U.S. Senate in 2012 and began representing Massachusetts in that body the following year. In 2024 Warren comfortably won reelection against Republican challenger John Deaton. Herring grew up in Norman, Oklahoma, where her father worked mainly as a maintenance man and her mother did catalog-order work.
