Sammy Price (born Oct. 6, 1908, Honey Grove, Texas, U.S.—died April 14, 1992, New York, N.Y.) was an American pianist and bandleader, a jazz musician rooted in the old rhythm and blues and boogie-woogie traditions who had a long career as a soloist and accompanist. Price first toured as a dancer before working in bands in the Southwest and Midwest during the 1920s and ’30s. He moved to New York City in 1937, where he became a staff musician and a musical director for Decca Records.
