Sándor Bálint (born Aug. 1, 1904, Szeged, Hung.—died May 10, 1980, Budapest) was a Hungarian ethnographer and eminent researcher on sacral ethnology and popular Roman Catholic traditions. Bálint completed his studies at Szeged University, then taught at the teacher-training institute from 1931 to 1947. He was a professor of ethnography at Szeged University from 1947 to 1951 and again from 1957 to 1966. (For political reasons, he was forbidden to teach between 1951 and 1956.)
