Sir Sidney Godolphin Alexander Shippard (born May 29, 1837, Brussels, Belg.—died March 29, 1902, London, Eng.) was a British colonial official in South Africa who served as administrator in the Bechuanaland Protectorate (now Botswana) from 1885 to 1895 and was closely associated with the empire builder Cecil Rhodes. The scion of a naval family, Shippard was educated in the law, which he practiced later as an advocate in Cape Colony.
