William R. Day (born April 17, 1849, Ravenna, Ohio, U.S.—died July 9, 1923, Mackinac Island, Mich.) was a statesman and associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (1903–22). After graduation from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, (1870), and admission to the bar, Day began to practice law in Canton, Ohio. He was made a judge of the Court of Common Pleas (1886) but was prevented by illness from assuming a subsequent appointment to the U.S. District Court.
