Achinsk, city, Krasnoyarsk kray (region), south-central Russia. It lies along the Chulym River, which is a tributary of the Ob. It was founded in 1621 and chartered in 1782. The nearby Kansk-Achinsk coal basin has also been developed. The city has clothing, furniture, and brick factories. Pop. (2006 est.) 112,729.
