Albert Nile, the upper Nile River in northwestern Uganda. The Albert Nile issues from the north end of Lake Albert, just north of the mouth of the Victoria Nile. It flows 130 miles (210 km) north past Pakwach to the South Sudanese border at Nimule, where it becomes the Al-Jabal River, or Mountain Nile. It is navigable throughout its course.
