Babergh, district, administrative and historic county of Suffolk, England. It extends across the southern part of Suffolk. Hadleigh, about 10 miles (16 km) west of Ipswich, is the administrative centre. Babergh includes much of the area made familiar by the paintings of John Constable (1776–1837), who was born within the district at East Bergholt and whose family owned mills there and at Flatford.
