Bosna River, river of Bosnia and Herzegovina, rising from a spring at the foot of Mount Igman and following a 168-mile (271-km) course northward to enter the Sava River. Its tributaries are the Željeznica, Miljacka, Fojnica, Lašva, Gostović, Krivaja, Usora, and Spreča rivers, all noted for freshwater fishing. The major cities along the river are Zenica and Doboj. After World War II, industry—especially metallurgical industry—expanded along the river valley.
