Handegg Falls, waterfall on the Aare River in Bern canton, south-central Switzerland; it is located about 9 miles (14 km) south-southeast of the village of Meiringen. After carving its way through the Aare Gorge, the stream is joined by the Aerlenbach (creek) and plunges from a height of 150 feet (45 metres) into a cauldron. The Handegg I hydroelectric station is near the foot of the falls.
