Samut Songkhram, town, south-central Thailand. It lies along the Gulf of Thailand southwest of Bangkok. The town is a fishing port on the northwestern coast of the Gulf of Thailand at the mouth of the Mae Klong River. It is also a collecting point for coconuts and rice. Locally known as Mae Klong, it is linked to Bangkok by railway. Pop. (2000) 34,985.
