Seekonk River, navigable stream about 5 miles (8 km) long formed by the widened Blackstone River at Pawtucket, R.I., U.S. The Seekonk joins the Providence River at Providence city; it is the most northerly point of Narragansett Bay tidewater. Seekonk is an Indian name possibly meaning “At the Outlet” or “Black Goose.”
