Tomaszów Mazowiecki, city, Łódzkie województwo (province), central Poland, on the Pilica River. A textile centre, the city contains synthetic-silk factories as well as carpet factories and leatherworks. A national bison preserve is located in nearby Spalska forest. The city has good road and rail connections to Warsaw and Łódź.

Founded in the late 18th century, Tomaszów Mazowiecki received municipal rights in 1830. The weaving industry was the primary economic staple after the early 1800s, with textile plants appearing as synthetic processes were developed. Pop. (2011) 65,998.
