urethral gland, in male placental mammals, any of the glands that branch off the internal wall of the urethra, the passageway for both urine and semen. The glands contribute mucus to the seminal fluid. They are located along the whole length of the urethra but are most numerous along the section of the urethra that passes through the penis.
