Rafael Nadal, in full Rafael Nadal Parera, (born June 3, 1986, Manacor, Mallorca, Spain), Spanish tennis player. Nadal was best known for his skill on clay, on which he won an unprecedented 81 consecutive matches and captured a record-setting 14 French Open titles (2005–08, 2010–14, 2017–20, 2022). He also won the Wimbledon (2008, 2010), Australian Open (2009, 2022), and U.S. Open (2010, 2013, 2017, 2019) championships to complete a career Grand Slam twice. His 22 total Grand Slam men’s singles titles was the most in tennis history. In addition, he won men’s singles gold medals at the 2008 and 2016 Olympic Games.
