East Tennessee State University, public, coeducational institution of higher learning in Johnson City, Tennessee, U.S. It is part of the State University and Community College System of Tennessee. The university includes the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, Public and Allied Health, Nursing, and Applied Science and Technology; the schools of Graduate Studies and Continuing Studies; and the James H. Quillen College of Medicine. It offers more than 100 undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs. There are off-campus centres in Elizabethton, Bristol, Greeneville, and Kingsport.
