Harry Angstrom, fictional character, the protagonist of four novels by John Updike—Rabbit, Run (1960) and its sequels. Rabbit Angstrom is an ordinary middle-class man lost in the sterility of the modern world. Throughout the tetralogy, the former high-school basketball star serves as a voice for the author’s affectionate, if uneasy, commentary on his generation.
