Hofstra University, private, coeducational institution of higher learning in Hempstead, New York, U.S. It consists of eight schools, including Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; New College, an interdisciplinary liberal arts college; and the Frank G. Zarb School of Business. The university also has schools of communication, education and allied human services, university studies, law, and continuing education. The university offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in business, education, and arts and sciences as well as doctoral programs in psychology and education.
