Peabody Award, any of the awards administered annually by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication in recognition of outstanding public service and achievement in electronic media. Recipients are organizations and individuals involved in the production or distribution of content for such outlets as radio, broadcast and cable television, and the Internet. Because of their academic affiliation and reputation for discernment, the awards are held in high esteem within the media industry.
