Kakamigahara, city, southern Gifu ken (prefecture), central Honshu, Japan. It is situated on the Kiso River, just east of Gifu city.

An army base was established in the city at the time of the Meiji Restoration in 1868. The base was taken over by the U.S. Army after World War II and later was turned over to the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force. The city contains aircraft and transport equipment factories and textile mills. It is included in the Chūkyō Industrial Zone. The Kakamigahara Aerospace Science Museum is located in the city. Pop. (2010) 145,604; (2015) 144,690.
