Krasnyy Luch, city, eastern Ukraine, on the southern slopes of the Donets Hills. Originally established as a mining site in the 1880s, it was incorporated as a city in 1926. Krasnyy Luch historically has been an important anthracite-mining centre of the Donets Basin coalfield. The city also has been home to coal-enriching plants, a machine-tools factory, and light industries. Krasnyy Luch is linked by rail to Ivanivka. Pop. (2001) 94,875; (2005 est.) 89,688.
